Kalena Helmer, PT, MSPT, DPT is the director of physical therapy at our Rowlett facility. She is a native of Garland, Texas and currently resides in Rockwall, Texas. She is a 2002 graduate of Texas A&M with undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, 2006 graduate of Texas Woman's University receiving her Master's of Science in Physical Therapy, and 2009 graduate of Texas Woman's University receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is currently seeking certification in manual therapy.
Kalena has special interests in manual therapy and therapeutic exercises. She has clinical experience ranging from out-patient orthopedics, in-patient rehabilitation, and acute care.
Wendy Davidson, PT graduated from the University of Oklahoma but is a native Texan. She has been practicing since 1993 with emphasis in aquatic therapy and manual therapy. Her focus has been orthopedics throughout her career with an additional interest in spine.
Candice Brown, DPT is a 2016 graduate of Ithaca College and originally from the Washington D.C. area. Her treatment style focuses on compassion, time efficiency, and evidence-based interventions. She specializes in treating orthopedic injuries and neurological conditions. Specifically, Candice has a special interest in treating the extremities, sports related injuries, post-surgical operations and Parkinson Disease. Her research background includes healthcare accessibility and she believes in empowering her patients with both quality education and the tools to effectively manage their various pathologies. Additionally, she is LSVT Big certified and an active member for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Hannah Fail, DPT, graduated from Harding University in Searcy, AR with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016. She earned Magna Cum Laude honors with her Bachelor's in Exercise Science in 2013. She has clinical experience in orthopedics, inpatient rehabilitation, and acute care. Additional certifications include LSVT Big through LSVT Global and Barefoot Training certified through EBFA.
Allen Wright, PTA graduated as salutatorian from the initial PTA program for ConcordeCareerCollege in Dallas. He has an interest in the provision of physical therapy throughout the full orthopedic range and life cycle while integrating manual therapy, exercise, and modalities to progress patients toward a better quality of life.
Joy Amundsen, PTA is a native of Central Illinois who has been practicing since 2006. She holds two degrees: B.S. in Exercises Science and Fitness from Illinois State University and graduated from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Illinois Central College in 2006. Joy has a special interest working with patient's of all ages, the spine, manual therapy, orthopedics, neurological and aquatic therapies. She has clinical experience ranging from out-patient to acute care.
